We are delighted to be celebrating National Heritage Week here at Tara. With Meath being the heritage capital of the country, there’s no better place to be for the celebrations! And how excited are we that the festival is kicking off here at Tara hill? Join us on August 23rd for a ‘Beat your drum’ session to launch the festival, but that’s not all! The rest of the week if bursting with fun activities for all the family!

Pop down for the intimate Irish poetry and music Feis Teamhra, with featured guests including Nuala Ní Dhomhnall and Christine Tobin. Take the kids to Tara hill to witness a breathtaking falconry display of owls, falcons and hawks! Or, celebrate the legacy that is Tara by learning about the history, high kings and heroes walked this magical site with free tours and audio guides. Beat Your Drum for National Heritage Week

Come and be part of 200 drummers on the Hill of Tara for the launch of National Heritage Week. Suitable for children 8+. No experience necessary and all drums will be supplied
